DSLR Camera stands for Digital single-lens reflex camera. It is basically a digital camera that combines the mechanism and optics of a single-lens reflex camera with digital image sensing as conflicting to a photographic film.The primary difference between DSLR and other camera is the reflex design scheme, as in reflex schemes the light travels through the lens, to a mirror that intersperses to send the images to the image sensors or viewfinders. The substitute would be to have a viewfinder with its own lens; therefore, the word “single lens” is used for DSLR camera. With the use of a single lens, the viewfinder is able to present an image that observably different from what has been captured by the camera sensor.
Interchangeable lenses are used by DSLR camera with an exclusive lens mount. At a 45 degree angle is a moveable mechanical mirror that can be switched down to direct light from the lens over a magnifying focus screen with the help of a condenser lens and a pentamirror or pentaprism to an optical viewfinder. The entry level DSLR’s usually make use of pentaprism than the conventional pentamirror. The focusing mode can be chosen according to the preference of the photographer, it can be either automatic or manual, that can be activated by half-way pressing on the shutter or an AF button designated for this purpose. When capturing an image, the mirror reels in an ascending manner i.e. in the direction of the arrow where the focal plane shutter opens and the image is captured with the help of image sensors. After the picture is taken, the shutter shuts down and the mirror returns to a 45 degree angle and the in-built drive mechanism pressures the shutter for a next camera shot. In comparison to the new concept of mirror less interchangeable cameras the prism-mirror system is a typical difference that provides accurate and direct optical view with a separate exposure meeting sensor and autofocus. The most important parts of digital cameras are amplifiers, image processors, analog convertors to digital convertors and other microprocessors used for the purpose of processing digital images, electronic display and data storage.

View-finder- Basically, the way that the image is viewed in a DSLR differs majorly from the normal digital cameras. DSLR camera has a pentaprism/pentamirror that reflects the image to the viewfinder. To make it simpler to understand, the image that is seen through the viewfinder is captured exactly the same way. On the other hand, with other digital cameras the image does not really match the view-finder images as it has LCD view-finders.
Quality of Images- When it comes to the picture quality, DSLR camera are able to capture beautiful images even in areas with low light without any grains or noise. The photographic lenses are the main reason behind this as it makes exposure for improving the quality of images and image sensors. Simultaneously, the normal digital camera need a flash to capture images in an area with low light and is grainy as well.
Construction of camera- The body construction of the DSLR camera is one of the biggest differences from normal digital cameras. These cameras are huge, heavy and come with interchangeable lenses. They comprise of aperture, shutter and lenses that are the basic parts of any camera, hence making it look bulky and are quite expensive. On the other hand, the normal digital cameras are tiny in size and can be carried around easily, they do not incorporate any shutters or apertures like the DSLR’s and are comparatively low priced.
