Working Principle:

Battery: Here in this DIY Project we are using a 9 Volt Battery.  9Volt Battery is commonly used in small electronics devices like pocket radios, electric cars etc. This battery is also available in rechargeable type. Here in this Handy Mobile Phone Charger Circuit, these batteries provides sufficient power to the regulator circuit for charging the phone battery.

Regulator Circuit: In this regulator circuit section, LM7805 IC is used as the voltage Regulator. This IC is belonging to 78xx series (Fixed linear voltage regulator). This LM 7805 IC provides a regulated fixed 5 Volt as its output, which is used for charging the mobile phones.

Electronic Components Required:

  • Regulator, LM7805 :1No.
  • Resistor, 5ohm /1W : 1No.
  • Capacitor, 1uF /25V : 2 No.s
  • Dc socket, Male (DCJ0202) : 1No.
  • Battery and Holder , 9V : 1No.

NOTE: This Handy Mobile Phone Charger Circuit DIY Project can’t be used with the new smart phone types, since it uses DC socket, it only applicable for mobile phones having such sockets.
